How it works

A board costs the restaurant nothing because six businesses paid for it

That is the entire mechanism. Everything below is detail.

A restaurant hosts a free board

They choose a size and a mount, and agree to keep it visible for 12 months. Nothing to pay at any point.

6 local businesses buy the slots

One per category, prepaid for the year. Six slots at $600 is what funds the board, the artwork and the install.

We manufacture and install

The board is made to order with the host's logo and the six ads printed on. We fit it — French cleat on the wall, or a weighted easel on the floor.

Everyone gets a photo

Every advertiser is sent a picture of their ad on the live board, in the actual restaurant, so they can see what they bought.

Anatomy

What is actually on the board

Roughly half the board is the restaurant's to write on. The rest is what pays for it.

A specials board showing, from the top: the host logo, a large black writing area, a support-local banner, six advertiser slots, and an emedialocal strip.

Sample board — artwork shown for illustration

  1. Host logo. The restaurant's own branding, printed at the top. Their board, not ours.
  2. The writing area. Black dry-erase surface for specials, soups, hours, game days. Rewritten as often as they like.
  3. Support-local banner. The line that frames the whole thing: we support local Arlington businesses.
  4. 6 advertiser slots. One business per category, built to one house template so the row stays legible from across a room.
  5. Logo and contact area. Each advertiser's mark, a line of service, and a phone number readable from a few feet away.
  6. Our strip. Along the bottom — how the restaurant found us, and how the next one will.

If you run the restaurant

You are getting a free sign and giving up the bottom strip.

  • No cost, no rental, no renewal fee
  • Your logo at the top
  • Veto over any advertiser you do not want
  • We install it and we take it away
Request a board

If you run a local business

You are renting a small billboard where people sit still.

  • One business per category on that board
  • Named restaurant, known before you pay
  • Artwork designed and approved before print
  • Photo of the ad on the finished board

Straight answer

What this is not

Not a lead generator

Nobody can promise you calls from a sign. This is presence and repetition in a small area, the way a good sign has always worked.

Not a measured channel

Unless we agree to put a QR code on your ad, there is no tracking pixel on a piece of printed board. We would rather say that than invent a number.

Not a long contract

One prepaid year, then it ends unless you decide otherwise. Nothing renews on its own.
