Privacy notice

Last updated September 2026. Written to be read, not to be survived.

Who we are

emedialocal places dry-erase specials boards in restaurants in Arlington and the Mid-Cities and sells advertising slots on them. Contact us through the contact page.

What we collect

When you send one of our forms we collect what you type into it:

  • Your name, business or venue name, phone number and email address
  • Your address or trading area, if you give it
  • Your business category, preferred board size and mount
  • Any website, Google Business or social link you share
  • Anything you write in the message box

We also record the date and time, the IP address the form came from, and your browser's user-agent string. Those three are kept for spam defence and for showing, if it is ever disputed, that a particular enquiry was actually sent.

Consent to be contacted

Our forms ask you to tick a box confirming we may contact you by phone, text or email about your enquiry. We record that tick with your enquiry. You can withdraw it at any time by replying to any message from us, or by writing to us via the contact page, and we will stop.

Phone calls

Our phone line is not open yet. When it opens, calls may be answered by an automated answering system and may be recorded; this notice will be updated to say so before that happens, and the disclosure will also be given on the call itself.

Why we hold it

  • To reply to your enquiry — that is the whole point of the form
  • To arrange a board, a slot, artwork, or an installation
  • To keep a record of what was agreed, and of your consent to contact
  • To defend against spam and abuse of the forms

Who sees it

Us, and the small number of suppliers that make the site work: our web host, and our email provider. We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not share it with other advertisers on your board or with the restaurants that host boards, beyond what is necessary to place your ad.

This site loads no third-party tracking on its own. Fonts are served from our own domain rather than a font network, so simply reading these pages does not report anything to anyone else. We are not running analytics at present. If we add it, this notice will be updated first.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become customers: up to 24 months, then deleted. Customer records: for the length of the agreement and seven years afterwards, which is what our tax and accounting obligations require. Spam-defence records: 12 months.

Your choices

Ask us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct anything wrong, or delete it. Texas residents have these rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act; we extend the same treatment to everyone because operating two standards is not worth it. Write to us through the contact page and we will respond within 45 days.

Children

This is a business-to-business service. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change how any of this works we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes to how we use existing information will be notified to anyone affected.

This notice is written in plain language for clarity. It is not legal advice, and it is not a substitute for review by a lawyer before launch.
